SUSTAINABILITY
Jurong Port is home to the world’s largest port-based solar power generation facility. With an estimated annual generation capability of more than 12 million KW, it helps offset more than 60% of the port’s electrical usage.
We also take pride in having the world’s first green berths. Apart from using certified green construction materials, concrete from the existing berths and yards were cut up, crushed and recycled for use in the upgrading, which greatly reduced the project’s total carbon footprint.
Jurong Port Administration Building, where the company’s headquarters is based, was awarded the Green Mark Platinum Award by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA). It recognises Jurong Port’s success in creating an environment-friendly work space.
