Today, Jurong Port (JP) and FueLNG signed a long-term terminal service agreement for the provision of port infrastructure and services to support the berthing of LNG fuelled vessels at JP for truck-ship LNG bunkering. FueLNG, a joint venture between Keppel O&M and Shell Eastern Petroleum (Pte) Ltd., has selected JP as their preferred site for the provision of LNG bunkering services to their clients.
The agreement was signed between JP’s Chief Commercial Officer Mr Desmond Lim and FueLNG ‘s Management Advisor Ms Andrea Gay, and witnessed by JP CEO Mr Ooi Boon Hoe and FueLNG Chairman Mr Chris Ong (Keppel O&M CEO). The signing event was part of the vessel naming ceremony of ‘KST Liberty’ held at Keppel Singmarine today, with Mr Loh Ngai Seng, Permanent Secretary (Ministry of Transport) as the Guest of Honour. According to Keppel O&M, the vessel ‘KST Liberty’ is South East Asia and Singapore’s first LNG fuelled tug. With this agreement, ‘KST Liberty’ will call regularly at JP for LNG bunkering.
As Singapore’s main multipurpose gateway port, JP is indeed delighted to play a role by providing the infrastructure needed for the development of LNG bunkering. This will support the creation of an LNG hub in Singapore and reinforces its maritime hub status. Together with partners like FueLNG, JP will build up the necessary support facilities to meet the requirements of the industry.
