Jurong Port announced today the successful completion of the first LNG bunkering demonstration conducted in Singapore and Southeast Asia. The event was officiated by Dr Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Trade and Industry and National Development.
Pavilion Gas, one of two licensed LNG bunker suppliers in Singapore; showcased the equipment, procedures and safety measures implemented for the LNG bunkering demonstration at Jurong Port. The event was witnessed by close to 100 guests with representatives from Ministry of Trade and Industry, Maritime and Port Authority, JTC, SLNG and the maritime industry. At the event, truck-to-ship transfer of LNG to a vessel alongside Jurong Port’s berths was conducted successfully.
“Our ideal location to serve vessels at anchorage, superior infrastructure and proximity to Jurong Island make us the preferred site to not only support LNG’s bunkering activities but probably also the development of regional LNG distribution hub as well”, said Mr Ooi Boon Hoe, Chief Executive Officer of Jurong Port.
